❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Got a question?

Here are answers to some of the most common queries about NeuroThrive Australia, our programs, and how to get involved.

💙 About NeuroThrive

What is NeuroThrive Australia?

NeuroThrive Australia is a registered Health Promotion Charity (HPC) and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) organisation based in Melbourne.

We support autistic and ADHD individuals, their families, and the wider community through education, advocacy, and inclusive programs.

Is NeuroThrive a government organisation?

No. We are an independent, community-based charity. We collaborate with schools, workplaces, and service providers, but we’re not part of any government department.

Do you only support families in Victoria?

While we’re based in Melbourne, our programs and online workshops are open to families across Australia.

🌿 Programs & Services

How do I join a NeuroThrive program?

You can register for programs by emailing programs@neurothrive.org.au or visiting our Programs page. Most sessions are low-cost or free.

Do I need a formal diagnosis to participate?

No. We welcome families who are awaiting assessments or exploring neurodivergence. Our supports are neuro-affirming and suitable for a wide range of needs.

Are your programs only for children?

Our focus is early years and family support, but we also run sessions for educators, workplaces, and adults who identify as neurodivergent.

💼 Donations & Volunteering

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible in Australia under our DGR endorsement.

Can I volunteer if I don’t have experience with autism or ADHD?

Absolutely! We welcome volunteers with diverse skills — from admin and events to design, translation, and community outreach.

📧 Email volunteer@neurothrive.org.au to get started.

How are donations used?

Funds go directly to program delivery, family support materials, and accessibility initiatives. We also publish transparent financial reports annually.

🧠 Inclusion & Safety

What does “neuro-affirming” mean?

It means we see neurological differences as part of human diversity, not something to “fix.”

Our work focuses on support, acceptance, and access — not compliance or correction.

Are your events child-safe?

Yes. We adhere to child-safe standards and all facilitators have valid Working With Children Checks.

Do you work with culturally diverse or multilingual families?

Yes. We welcome all backgrounds and are working to expand translated resources and culturally sensitive programs.
